COVID-19 Parish Updates

First and foremost, we pray everyone is well.

The parish staff is available at our regular office hours. Please call and make an appointment by calling 972-279-6581.
A mask/face covering is required before entering the buildling. Please adhere to social distancing.

                                           
PHASE 3 Public daily Mass will be celebrated and live-streamed in the Sanctuary, with the following guidelines, from Monday to Saturday at 9:30am.
Public Vigil/Sunday Mass will be celebrated in the Sanctuary, with the following guidelines, at the regular Mass times.
           Vigil Mass-Saturday | 5:30pm
           Sunday Mass | 8:30am, 10:30am (Live Streamed), 12:30pm, 5pm

• Temperatures will be checked prior to entering the building.
• Participants must wear facial coverings and sanitize hands before entering.
  • We encourage you to bring your own hand sanitizer to use before receiving communion
• Social distancing of 6 feet must be maintained throughout the Mass.
  • Every other pew is marked as “no seating” and everyone must sit six feet apart except those living in the same household.
• No holding hands during the Lord’s Prayer.
• No Sign of Peace
• Communion 
  • After the final blessing
  • Please maintain social distance during Holy Communion.
  • Communicants should receive in the hand.
  • No Chalice
  • Participants may stay for personal prayer for a short period after Mass.
• For Daily Mass: The East door is the only entrance and exit. This is the side door between the church and the chapel.
• The church building will be cleaned and disinfected after each gathering.

Mass Videos are saved to our Facebook page and are also posted afterward on our website. Face coverings are required to attend Mass.

Daily Mass: The eastside entrance (chapel) door will be open at 9 am, please line up and maintain social distancing of 6 ft apart, a staff member will take your temperature before letting you into the building.

Eucharistic Adoration: Monday-Friday 12pm to 4pm in the Chapel

Confessions: Thursday & Saturdays at 4pm (outside on the East side parking lot), please make sure to wear a mask/covering and maintain at least six feet of distance. 

• You can continue to meditate with a Crucifix, make an act of spiritual communion, do lectio divina, or participate online with Daily Mass. You can do a daily examination of conscience. Please read what Pope Francis has recently commented on perfect contrition.  

Pope Francis will offer plenary indulgences in response to COVID-19. Read the decree here. 

Holy Water is not available at this time and until further notice.

Tithing:  St. Michael still needs your support as we have fixed costs as a parish. We are still offering Mass and prayers for you! Online giving on our website makes it easy to give whether just for this week or as a recurring contribution. There is also a white envelope drop box located on the West entrance (by the Faith Formation offices) to place your church envelope.

Faith Formation and Youth Ministry are working diligently on the logistics to continue classes and activities safely and in a redesigned format.

For the care of our community we ask that you take these everyday actions: 

• Wash your hands frequently.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
• Check on those who are homebound or elderly by contacting them by phone.

Our food pantry is open on limited days, Thursday-Saturdays from 9:30am to 11:30am at the moment, but we are working on a way to assist clients in a different format.

• We are still accepting non-perishable food donations.
• People can also go to Sharing Life Community Outreach at 3544 E. Emporium Circle, Mesquite 75150.
